Who we are
Dandelife.com was co-founded by Kelly Abbott and Edward Shenderovich. It was originally a project that Kelly started working on to solve the problem of blogging about the things that interested him most (people, places and things in his past) for the people he was interested in most (his friends and family). At one point Kelly got tired of working on this in his spare time so he quit his day job and started looking for other people who might be interested in helping him launch a service with that goal in mind: building a better blog. Kelly and Edward knew each other from working together as successful Web company entrepreneurs so when Kelly showed the idea to Edward an immediate partnership was formed. Since then, the idea has grown into what you see today.
In addition to Kelly and Edward, Dandelife.com has enlisted the support of one major funder, Gary Peterson, a personal friend, and believer in the vision from day 1.
We would also be nowhere were it not for the fact that we have taken excellent advice from our advisers: Ross Mayfield, CEO of SocialText (his super power is running a company with sustainable values); Bruce Livingstone, CEO of iStockPhoto (his super power is building communities for creative people); Jeffrey Zeldman (his super power is in speaking truth to power); Reid Carr, President of Red Door Interactive (his super power is knowing what advertisers want from their ad dollar); Mike Jones, CEO of UserPlane, now a VP of AIM at AOL (his super power is in knowing how to build a business that scales). With their dedication to our vision, Dandelife is sure to have lasting success.
